Roofs in Bli Bli: what we see and what we do
Bli Bli sits on the Maroochy River among the old canefields, and its 10,138 residents live in two distinct kinds of housing. The village streets and older estates have 1980s and 90s brick homes with concrete tiles, now faded and cracked along the ridges. Parklakes and the newer estates west of the village brought flat-profile tiles and Colorbond on compact blocks from the 2010s.
Bli Bli is three to five kilometres from the surf in the C3 coastal band under AS 4312, with the tidal river adding humidity and a little salt. Storms come up the river valley in summer with hail and strong gusts, and low-pitched estate roofs collect moss along the laps.
