What we do
Epoxy Garage Flooring on the Sunshine Coast
Bare garage concrete stains with the first oil drip, dusts every time it is swept and marks under hot tyres. An epoxy coating turns it into a hard, sealed surface that hoses off. We started doing garage floors for roof restoration customers who wanted the house finished while the crew was there, and it has become a regular job on its own. Photos of recent floors are being added to the site; in the meantime ask us for examples when you enquire.
The coating is only as good as the preparation. We diamond grind the slab to open the surface and remove old paint, sealer and contamination, fill cracks and spalls, then apply a penetrating epoxy primer. Over that goes the colour coat, either a solid colour or a base coat with decorative flake broadcast into it, followed by a clear polyurethane or epoxy top coat that carries the wear and gives the floor its gloss. Flake floors hide dust and tyre marks best; solid colours suit a workshop where you want to see what you have dropped.
Epoxy needs time to harden. Foot traffic is fine within a day or so in warm weather, and the car stays out for several days while the top coat reaches full hardness; we give you the product's cure times on the day. Once cured the floor resists oil, fuel, brake fluid, hot tyres and hot water, and cleans with a mop. A published national guide puts the median epoxy floor job at $900, with a double garage around $1,500; ours is quoted on inspection.
What's included

Driveway to match

When an epoxy floor makes sense
- Oil and grease stains that will not scrub out of the concrete
- Concrete dust on everything stored in the garage
- Old garage paint peeling and lifting under the tyres
- A garage being converted to a gym, workshop or rumpus room
- Preparing the house for sale and the garage lets it down
- Finishing the house after a roof restoration and exterior repaint
