Roofs in Mons: what we see and what we do
Mons is a small pocket of acreage on the steep western slopes of Buderim, with homes strung along winding roads under rainforest and remnant bush. Housing ranges from 1970s and 80s brick homes with concrete or terracotta tiles to 1990s and 2000s Colorbond houses built for the views. Roofs here are large, often multi-level to follow the slope, and shaded by tall trees for much of the day.
Mons sits around eight to ten kilometres from the beach in the C3 inland band under AS 4312. Salt is a minor factor; the slope, shade and high rainfall are what wear roofs out.
